The key to develop a new habit is to repeat, to practice. As any art, you can have the “theory” about how to play a song in the piano, then you have to practice many times, until it becomes natural.
Same happens with the martial art. We practice Aikido many times a week, so we can overwrite the natural response to conflict, with a different approach: guide instead of confronting.
